I’m trying to backup a DVD we got from my Grandfather’s funeral. DVD Decrypter shows no copy protection but produces errors. DVD Shrink says it can’t read the DVD. My iMac spits out the disc after a minute of spinning. Roxio errors out, same with Alcohol 120. Using MPC on a Windows machine, I can see it’s playing title 69. Trying to copy those files manually proved fruitless when explorer quit responding after copying only a few K.
Trying to load the DVD into Handbrake right now. After 15 minutes it shows ‘Scanning Title 1 of 71’. It started with 1 of 99.
… 45 minutes later …
Handbrake scanned all 99 titles and automatically selected title 69. I selected a destination, verified some settings and clicked start… And it worked!! I now have an mp4 I can do with what I wish.
